Ets2 Is an Activity‐Dependent Transcriptional Regulator of a Fast‐Twitch Muscle Program

Ets2 is a transcription factor rapidly (24 h) upregulated in skeletal muscle by fast 150 Hz, but not slow 20 Hz, stimulation patterns. Ets2 selectively translocates to nuclei of slow soleus muscle when stimulated by fast‐patterned, but not slow‐patterned, activity. Ets2 binds to a consensus DNA sequence in the troponin I fast intronic enhancer (TnIFIRE)

Endothelial Exostosin‐1 Is Needed for Glycocalyx Integrity and Inflammatory Resolution in Acute Lung Injury

Endothelial Ext1 is essential for maintaining heparan sulfate–rich endothelial glycocalyx integrity. Loss of Ext1 reduces glycocalyx thickness, resulting in enhanced leukocyte adhesion, increased vascular permeability, and exaggerated inflammatory responses following lipopolysaccharide (LPS) challenge.
