Measurement of interferometer instrument line shape

IGARSS'97. 1997 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium Proceedings. Remote Sensing - A Scientific Vision for Sustainable Development, 2002
The UKMO has developed an airborne interferometer 'ARIES' to act as simulator for future satellite-based infrared sounders. In order to characterise anomalies in ARIES observations of atmospheric scenes, methods have been developed to experimentally determine interferometer instrument line shape (ILS) rather than relying on simulation.

Determination of a Fabry-Perot multipass interferometer instrumental function

Applied Optics, 1989
Theoretical determination of the instrumental function of a Fabry-Perot multipass interferometer as a function of the single pass instrumental function is studied. The polynomial dependences between the respective parameters characterizing the instrumental functions are given. An experimental check of the theoretical predictions is also presented.

Infrared atmospheric sounding interferometer instrument overview

SPIE Proceedings, 1994
The paper presents the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) being developed, in cooperation between France and Italy. IASI is a part of the operational meteorological payload managed by EUMETSTAT. The Baseline plateform for the first flight model of the Instrument is the METOP-1 polar platform to be launched during 2000/2001.

FIInS. The Far-infrared Interferometer INstrument Simulator

Imaging and Applied Optics, 2013
FIRI is a concept for a space-based spatial-spectral interferometer with an operating wavelength range 25-300 & mu;m and subarcsecond angular resolution. The status of the design of the FIRI system via an instrument simulator is presented.

Interferometer instrument transfer function testing method

Chinese Journal of Optics and Applied Optics, 2014
To acquire the spatial frequency response of the interferometer, the testing method on instrument transfer function( ITF) of interferometer was researched. First, the theoretical calculation model of instrument transfer function of imaging system was established, and the testing model of Fizeau interferometer was simulated via lens design program.

Instrumental developments for the Sydney University Stellar Interferometer

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
The Sydney University Stellar Interferometer (SUSI) has been enhanced by installation of the PAVO beam combiner, which uses an electron-multiplying CCD detector giving a fast, low-noise 2D readout. This allows PAVO to provide wide-band wavelength dispersed beam combination, which improves sensitivity and scientific productivity.

The Instrument Function of a Wide Angle Michelson Interferometer Spectrometer

Applied Optics, 1968
The instrument function of a wide angle Michelson interferometer spectrometer is derived in terms of known or easily measured functions using a novel method of computing the phase difference between the two beams. The interferometer essentially achieves immersion with solid materials and has the advantages of a larger field of view and fewer reflecting

Folded Jamin interferometer: a stable instrument for refractive-index measurements

Optics Letters, 1996
A novel two-beam interferometer for the measurement of a refractive index or its induced changes is described. This interferometer consists of only two optical elements and is largely insensitive to their movement. A laboratory prototype has been built.

Robust monolithic ultraviolet interferometer for the SHIMMER instrument on STPSat-1

Applied Optics, 2003
We describe the design, fabrication, and testing of a monolithic interferometer consisting entirely of optically contacted fused-silica optical elements that are assembled, adjusted, and permanently bonded in place. The interferometer is part of a spatial heterodyne spectrometer (SHS) [SHIMMER (Spatial Heterodyne Imager for Mesospheric Radicals)] that ...

The ALISEO instrument: further improvements of calibration methods and assessment of interferometer response

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
In recent years the Italian Space Agency funded a feasibility study for an aerospace imaging interferometer for Earth Observation. The instrument, named ALISEO (Aerospace Leap-frog Imaging Stationary Interferometer for Earth Observation), belongs to the class of the so called "stationary interferometers," and it operates in the common path Sagnac ...
