Magnetic properties of geraisites, the first tektite strewn field identified in Brazil
Abstract Geraisites are a newly recognized class of tektite from Brazil. They occur as centimeter‐sized, elongated to subspherical bodies scattered across surface gravel and shallow subsurface layers within a ~90‐km‐long strewn field extending between the municipalities of São João do Paraíso and Curral de Dentro, near the border between the states of ...

The effects of atmosphere conditions on gamma-ray astronomy [PDF]
The High Energetic Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.) experiment is an array of imaging atmospheric Cherenkov (IAC) telescopes of the next generation, with enlarged mirrors and advanced detector electronics compared to its predecessors.

Abstract We investigated the structural framework of the north–northwestern Paraná Basin in Brazil to test whether the pre‐impact structures in this region may have had any influence on the first‐order formation and morphostructure of the Araguainha impact structure (AIS).

Revisiting the Hummeln structure, Sweden—A shallow marine Cambrian impact structure
Abstract Hummeln is a simple impact structure located in south‐eastern Sweden. It is approximately 1.2 km in diameter and almost completely covered by a lake. Here, we present the first detailed investigation of impactites and mapping of the 164.25 m deep drill core Hummeln‐1 with a focus on impact metamorphism and the impact process.

Abstract The framework of the Impact Cratering Committee (ICC) of the Meteoritical Society was approved in 2020, with the first committee members appointed in 2023. The ICC has a mandate to (1) approve, maintain, and update a database of confirmed terrestrial meteorite impact structures, (2) define and regularly update the criteria used for ...

Novel Atmospheric Monitoring for the H.E.S.S. site and its Industrial Applications [PDF]
This thesis concerns the atmospheric monitoring instrumentation for the H.E.S.S. (High Energy Stereoscopic System) gamma-ray telescope site and the adaptation of such instruments for commercial use. The effect of the atmosphere on the H.E.S.S. telescopes'

Abstract Within the Danian Scaglia Rossa Formation appears a regionally correlatable horizon cutting across multiple sections and outcrops within the Umbria–Marche Basin of NE Italy, where it is intercalated with uniform pelagic carbonate successions. This horizon is called “ALE layer” and has tentatively been interpreted as a fine‐grained volcanic ash.

Probing star formation and radio activity using faint galaxy redshift surveys [PDF]
In this thesis, we study the evolution of radio luminosity functions (RLF) for AGN and star forming galaxies (SFG), the colour-magnitude distributions of radio and X-ray sources at redshift z ~1, the star formation rate density in dwarf galaxies at z ~1 ...
