Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Machine Learning as Meta-Instrument: Human-Machine Partnerships Shaping Expressive Instrumental Creation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this chapter, I discuss how machine learning algorithms can shape the design of new instruments. Machine learning algorithms can facilitate new types of design outcomes: they enable people to create new types of digital musical instruments. But, I will argue, they are also valuable in facilitating new types of design processes, allowing the ...

Liberating Intelligent Machines with Financial Instruments

open access: yes, 2010
In science fiction, Isaac Asimov's three laws of robotics, as presented in his novel I, Robot, are the classical starting point for machine responsibility analysis.1 Machine ethics research has widely followed Asimov's example2. Murphy and Woods3 propose

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
