Insulin Antibodies and Insulin Autoantibodies
Diabetic Medicine, 1991Antibodies to insulin are of two types, insulin antibodies which occur in patients who have been exposed to exogenous insulin treatment, and insulin autoantibodies which appear in insulin-naive subjects. The occurrence and clinical significance of the two types of antibody hardly overlap, and they will be discussed ...

Insulin, insulin receptors, and cancer
Journal of Endocrinological Investigation, 2016Insulin is a major regulator of cell metabolism but, in addition, is also a growth factor. Insulin effects in target cells are mediated by the insulin receptor (IR), a transmembrane protein with enzymatic (tyrosine kinase) activity. The insulin receptor, however, is represented by a heterogeneous family of proteins, including two different IR isoforms ...

SERUM-INSULIN OR PLASMA-INSULIN ?
The Lancet, 1970Abstract The concentration of insulin was measured by double-antibody immunoassay simultaneously in the plasma and serum of thirty-eight fasting and non-fasting individuals. The concentration found in heparin-plasma was consistently higher than that found in serum, and experiments suggest that the high plasma-level is an effect of heparin.

Insulin and insulin mixtures; nph insulin.
California medicine, 2004There are several distinct types of commercial insulins available, and with combinations of these many curves of timing of insulin action may be obtained, but none can parallel the action of a normal pancreas.NPH insulin, the newest addition, has a wide range of usefulness and may supplant many of the other types and combinations.
