A propósito de un caso : paciente con cuadro de disartria de una hora y media de evolución [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Insulinoma is a neoplasia of pancreatic β-cells that secretes insulin. It constitutes a rare cause of hypoglycemia. Poor knowledge of this disease is explained by the low incidence, 4 in 1 million people per year. The nonspecific symptoms and its size

Stuporous State in a Dog Following Ingestion of Chewing Gum Containing Xylitol Without Documented Hypoglycemia

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT An adult dog presented for evaluation of a stuporous state following the ingestion of more than 50 xylitol‐containing chewing gums (minimum xylitol dose ingested > 3 mg/kg). On admission, the patient was hyperglycemic (9.0 mmol/L [163 mg/dL]) with moderately increased liver parameters and a normal plasma ammonia concentration.

Pro-inflammatory cytokines attenuate glucose-stimulated insulin secretion from INS-1E insulinoma cells by restricting mitochondrial pyruvate oxidation capacity - Novel mechanistic insight from real-time analysis of oxidative phosphorylation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Pro-inflammatory cytokines cause pancreatic beta cell failure during the development of type 2 diabetes. This beta cell failure associates with mitochondrial dysfunction, but the precise effects of cytokines on mitochondrial respiration remain unclear ...

Millimolar concentrations of free magnesium enhance exocytosis from permeabilized rat pheochromocytoma (PC 12) cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The role of Mg2+ during the final steps of exocytosis was investigated using rat pheochromocytoma cells (PC12) permeabilized with bacterial pore forming toxins.

Insulinoma Associated with MEN1 Syndrome: A Case of Persistent Hypoglycemia in a School-aged Child

open access: yesJCRPE
Insulinoma is a rare cause of non-ketotic hypoglycemia, both in adults and in children. Pediatric patients account for approximately 5% of all cases, mostly due to isolated benign lesions, but insulinoma may also be part of a multiple endocrine neoplasia
