A new epidemic model of sexually transmittable diseases: a fractional numerical approach

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study aims at investigating the dynamics of sexually transmitted infectious disease (STID), which is serious health concern. In so doing, the integer order STID model is progressed in to the time-delayed non-integer order STID model by introducing ...

Exact Solutions for the Sharma–Tasso–Olver Equation via the Sardar Subequation Method with a Comparison between Atangana Space–Time Beta-Derivatives and Classical Derivatives

open access: yesMathematics
The Sharma–Tasso–Olver (STO) equation is a nonlinear, double-dispersive, partial differential equation that is physically important because it provides insights into the behavior of nonlinear waves and solitons in various physical areas, including fluid ...

Chameleonic Color‐Variable Microbead Emitters for Multilevel Spectroscopic Encryption from Visible to Infrared Wavelengths

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Whispering‐gallery‐mode microresonators with sharp resonant peaks enable photonic barcoding. Similar to a chameleon, a rare‐earth‐free microcavity with π‐conjugated PAHs enables visibleto‐near infrared color generation from a single microbead. The unique resonat emission (spectral barcode) can be dynamically transformed via excitation wavelength change,

Sharp bounds on the number of solutions of $X^{2}-\left( a^{2}+b^{2} \right) Y^{4}=-b^{2}$

open access: yes, 2018
We generalise and improve a result of Stoll, Walsh and Yuan by showing that there are at most two solutions in coprime positive integers of the equation in the title when $b=p^{m}$ where $m$ is a non-negative integer, $p$ is prime, $(a,p)=1$, $a^{2}+p ...

The Hyperbolic Heisenberg and Sigma Models in (1+1)-dimensions

open access: yes, 1998
Hyperbolic versions of the integrable (1+1)-dimensional Heisenberg Ferromagnet and sigma models are discussed in the context of topological solutions classifiable by an integer `winding number'.

Phototunable Polarization Volume Gratings Driven by Chiral Hydrazone Switches

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral hydrazone photoswitches incorporated into polarization volume gratings enable light‐driven, reversible modulation of optical properties. UV and blue light irradiation reversibly alter the hydrazone isomer ratio, leading to tunable diffraction efficiency and spectral response across the visible spectrum.

Exact solutions of time-delay integer- and fractional-order advection equations

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
Transport phenomena play a vital role in various fields of science and engineering. In this work, exact solutions are derived for advection equations with integer- and fractional-order time derivatives and a constant time-delay in the spatial derivative.

Fractional View Analysis of Third Order Kortewege-De Vries Equations, Using a New Analytical Technique

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2020
In the present article, fractional view of third order Kortewege-De Vries equations is presented by a sophisticated analytical technique called Mohand decomposition method.

Schr\"odinger Deformations of AdS_3 x S^3

open access: yes, 2011
We study Schr\"odinger invariant deformations of the AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4 (or K3) solution of IIB supergravity and find a large class of solutions with integer and half-integer dynamical exponents.

Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.
