Integrated Chassis Control to Improve Vehicle Handling Dynamics Performance

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2011
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Many of today's modern vehicles are ‘smart’ enough to sense their environments and make decisions that influence things such as handling, stability, safety and comfort. As of today, these systems are functioning in a standalone manner.

Agent-based coordination framework for integrated vehicle chassis control

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2009
An agent-based integrated control framework is proposed to organize the active steering, active driveline, active brake, and anti-lock braking—acceleration slip regulation controllers, which traditionally have been relatively independent. Analysis is made of the characteristics of vehicle-handling dynamics, the functions of the individual controllers,

Nonlinear tire inverse model for integrated chassis control system

2015 15th International Conference on Control, Automation and Systems (ICCAS), 2015
Advanced vehicle dynamics control systems, such as integrated chassis control systems, are generally designed in a two layers structure: a tire force determination layer, and a tire force generation layer. The tire force generation layer works as a servo function that follows the force commands from the force determination layer.

Integrated Chassis Control for Improving On-Center Handling Behavior

SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars - Mechanical Systems, 2014
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper proposes a new integrated chassis control (ICC) using a predictive model-based control (MPC) for optimal allocation of sub-chassis control systems where a predictive model has 6 Degree of Freedom (DoF) for rigid body dynamics.

Vehicle Integrated Chassis Control via Multi-Input Multi-Output Sliding Mode Control

2018 International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS), 2018
Integrated chassis control (ICC) systems are designed to coordinate the control actions of individual chassis control systems, in order to achieve superior overall control performance. Many existing ICC systems employ an implicit mechanism to allocate/distribute the global target control action between the subsystems, which may lead to contradictory or

Design of Integrated Chassis Control logics for AFS and ESP

International Journal of Automotive Technology, 2008
The performance of most electronic chassis control systems in the past has been optimized individually. Recently, a great research effort has been dedicated to the integration of chassis control systems in an effort to improve the vehicle performance. This involves orchestration of individual control modules so that they can jointly contribute to the ...
