Superconducting Integrated Terahertz Spectrometers [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Terahertz Science and Technology, 2015
A superconducting integrated receiver (SIR) comprises all of the elements needed for heterodyne detection on a single chip. Light weight and low power consumption combined with nearly quantum-limited sensitivity and a wide tuning range of the superconducting local oscillator make the SIR a perfect candidate for many practical applications.

On-chip spectrometers with photonic integrated circuits [PDF]

open access: yes
The miniaturization of optical spectrometers, one of the most essential characterization tools for analyzing light and extracting material information, has long been a primary research focus in both academia and industry. In recent years, this trend is further accelerated by the rapidly growing market demand for in situ, in vitro, and in vivo ...

Optical characterization and testbed development for μ-Spec integrated spectrometers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
This paper describes a cryogenic optical testbed developed to characterize µ-Spec spectrometers in a dedicated dilution refrigerator (DR) system. μ-Spec is a far-infrared integrated spectrometer that is an analog to a Rowland-type grating spectrometer ...

Recent developments in integrated spectrometers

Proceedings of 2004 6th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (IEEE Cat. No.04EX804), 2004
In the 1990s, the Institute for Microstructural Sciences has maintained a research project on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) based on integrated echelle gratings spectrometers. Major obstacles to the application of these spectrometers to telecommunications, such as channel wavelength accuracy, insertion loss, birefringence, polarisation ...
