Polarisation independent integrated optical spectrometer (PIIOS)

SPIE Proceedings, 1994
A new integrated optical device is demonstrated for the polarisation independent spectrum analysis of in fiber optical radiation. The device exploits the heterodyne detection of the optical signals from the output of an acousto-optical tunable filter fabricated on XY LiNbO3.

Integrated Millimeter/Submillimeter Superconducting Digital Spectrometer

IEEE Transactions on Appiled Superconductivity, 2005
Compact mm/submm integrated spectrometers are required for radio-astronomical research, remote monitoring of the Earth atmosphere and environmental monitoring for hazardous materials of chemical and biological origin. Assembled on a multi-chip module the all superconducting integrated spectrometer offers integration of thin film analog components such ...

Integrated spatial-temporal speckle spectrometer

CLEO 2024
We propose and demonstrate an integrated spatial-temporal speckle spectrometer. By constructing a highly uncorrelated transmission matrix, we accurately reconstructed a narrow band peak of 0.12 nm and a broadband spectrum covering the entire C-band.

Planar integrated plasmonic mid-IR spectrometer

MRS Proceedings, 2012
ABSTRACTA compact spectrometer-on-a-chip featuring a plasmonic molecular interaction region has been conceived, designed, modeled, and partially fabricated. The silicon-on-insulator (SOI) system is the chosen platform for the integration. The low loss of both silicon and SiO2 between 3 and 4 μm wavelengths enables silicon waveguides on SiO2 as the ...

Towards an Integrated Optofluidic Diffractive Spectrometer

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2007
We demonstrate an optofluidic lab-on-a-chip device by fabricating an optical transmission grating with an integrated microfluidic channel using soft lithography in polydimethylsiloxane. This integration of functionalities provides spectral analysis ldquoon-chiprdquo of the contents of the microfluidic channel.

Integrated superconducting spectrometer for atmosphere monitoring

Radiophysics and Quantum Electronics, 2005
The results of the development of sub-mm Superconducting Integrated Receiver (SIR) for monitoring of the Earth’s atmosphere from high-altitude balloons are presented. The microchip of the superconducting integrated receiver comprising local oscillator based on the long Josephson junction (flux flow oscillator, FFO) is developed and successfully tested.

A Planar Integrated Micro-mass Spectrometer

2012
A planar fully integrated micro-mass spectrometer fabricated in a full wafer based state-of-the-art MEMS technology in a glass–silicon–glass sandwich is presented. Within a volume of 7 × 10 × 1.3 mm³ it contains all components of a mass spectrometer, i.e., a microwave plasma electron source for ionization, an ionization chamber, the electron and ion ...

Pluto integrated camera spectrometer (PICS) instrument

Acta Astronautica, 1995
Abstract We describe an integrated instrument that will perform the functions of three optical instruments required by a Pluto Fast Flyby mission: a near-IR spectrometer (256 spectral channels, 1300–2600 nm), a two-channel imaging camera (300–500 nm, 500–1000 nm), and a UV spectrometer (80 spectral channels, 70–150 nm).

Integration of Colloidal Photonic Crystals toward Miniaturized Spectrometers

Advanced Materials, 2010
Integrated colloidal photonic crystals with different bandgaps are prepared by molding photocurable SiO(2) suspensions and subsequent photopolymerization under UV irradiation. The suspensions show spontaneous crystallization of SiO(2) particles and reflect iridescent colors (see figure).
