Assessing Cognitive Functioning in Children With Brain Tumors: Interaction of Neighborhood Social Determinants of Health and Neurological Risk

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background This study investigated how neighborhood‐level social determinants of health (SDOH), including redlining and neurological risk, interact to influence cognitive outcomes in children treated for brain tumors (CTBT). Methods A retrospective chart review of 161 CTBT aged 5–17 was conducted.

Integrability problems for two classes of polynomial differential systems

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2013
This paper, using pseudo-division algorithm, introduces a method for computing singular point values of a class of complex polynomial differential systems, establishes the necessary and sufficient conditions for integrability of two classes of complex ...

Integrated omics networks reveal the temporal signaling events of brassinosteroid response in Arabidopsis

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Brassinosteroids (BR) regulate plant development and stress responses. Here, by integrating multiple omics datasets and inferring networks, the authors profile BR signaling in Arabidopsis and characterize BRONTOSAURUS, a BR-regulated transcription factor

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Integrability of Heat and Its Integrating Factor in Classical Thermodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics, 2004
Summary: A symmetry called `scaling' and a transformation accompanying this symmetry are introduced into the thermodynamic state space \(M\) using the fourth law of thermodynamics (coined by Landsberg in 1961 for the `intensive-extensive' dichotomy of thermodynamic variables).

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Tsallis Ensemble as an Exact Orthode

open access: yes, 2006
We show that Tsallis ensemble of power-law distributions provides a mechanical model of nonextensive equilibrium thermodynamics for small interacting Hamiltonian systems, i.e., using Boltzmann's original nomenclature, we prove that it is an exact orthode.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Integral polytopes and polynomial factorization

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Mathematics, 2013
For any field F, there is a relation between the factorization of a polynomial f \in F[x1,...,xn] and the integral decomposition of the Newton polytope of f. We extended this result to polynomial rings R[x1,...,xn] where R is any ring containing some elements which are not zero-divisors.
