A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Education in Critical Thinking or in Virtues?: responding to Harvey Siegel
What to choose in education: critical thinking or intellectual virtues? This paper reflects on the central concern of education, given the decline of reasoning and the growing interest in the epistemology of virtue.

Religious Belief and Intellectual Autonomy [PDF]
Intellectual autonomy indicates how human being can preserve her epistemic agency and intellectually manage and regulate herself. This epistemic value is commonly proposed against intellectual heteronomy according to which the believer is not capable of ...

INTELLECTUAL HUMILITY – A MORAL CONSTRUCT, AN INTELLECTUAL VIRTUE
: The present literature review brings together conceptualizations and study results obtained from extensive work that has been done on the virtue of Intellectual Humility (IH) for the pasts 9 years. While philosophers don’t settle yet to a single point of view on intellectual humility, psychologists take a pragmatic stance on the construct and ...

Conformational Switching of Proteins on Material Surfaces Enabled by Peptide‐Oriented Adsorption
Responsive biointerfaces could be achieved using conformationally responsive proteins; however, their interconversion can be lost upon surface adsorption. Herein, we demonstrate that the incorporation a Au binding peptide into calmodulin allows for binding control on Au wherein the protein retains conformational switching. This capability was confirmed

Employing the intellectual virtues to better understand argumentation interventions in education
Argumentation-based classroom interventions are a growing alternative for stimulating conceptual learning, thinking, and communicative skills. However, not all classroom argumentation is desired, nor does every argumentation design lead students to ...

Virtue Epistemology and Developing Intellectual Virtue [PDF]
Virtue theorists have recently been focusing on the important question of how virtues are developed, and doing so in a way that is informed by empirical research from psychology. However, almost all of this recent work has dealt exclusively with moral virtues. In this paper, we present three empirically-informed accounts of how virtues can be developed,

Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Integrating Character Education Across the Curriculum: Teachers' Perspectives and Experiences
The historical overview highlights the existence of numerous philosophical theories of moral education. Nonetheless, these theories may pose a challenge when put into practice. Despite its philosophical foundations, character education has emerged as the

Additively manufactured triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) membranes offer an architecture‐driven alternative to hollow fiber bundles in artificial lungs. Multiphysics simulations and endothelialized prototypes show that the 3D‐printable membrane architecture improves gas exchange, blood flow distribution, and hemocompatibility, enabling ...
