Nonisothermal desorption at nucleate boiling in a layer of aqueous salt solution
This paper presents the results of experimental studies of nonisothermal desorption at nucleate boiling of layers of aqueous salt solutions of LiBr and CaCl2. The height of the layers is 2.8 mm. The wall temperature is 120 °C. The drop in the temperature

Electron Heat Fluxes Generated by Intense Whistler Waves at the Upper Ionospheric Altitudes
AbstractMagnetospheric whistler waves, chorus and hiss, can't provide the resonance heating of the core electron plasma population. However, these whistler‐mode branches, can implicitly participate in the heating processes of the core plasma thermal electron population by triggering the electron precipitation over a broad energy range from the ...

European divertor target concepts for DEMO: Design rationales and high heat flux performance
The divertor target plates are the most thermally loaded in-vessel components in a fusion reactor where high heat fluxes are produced on the plasma-facing components (PFCs) by intense plasma bombardment, radiation and nuclear heating.

The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the structural response of composite steel-concrete eccentrically buckling-restrained braced frames (BRBFs). The finite element (FE) software ABAQUS is employed to nonlinearly analyse the BRBFs. Comparing the modelling and experimental test results validates the FE modelling method of the BRBF.

Study of the heat flux fluctuations intensity during flow around a circular cylinder
Abstract An experimental study performed in an air channel using gradient heatmetry is presented, for a configuration of three heated circular cylinders with different distance between them. Cylinders were installed one by one. The main objective is to analyze the heat flux fluctuations, employing gradient heat flux sensor.

Thermal breakage of window glass in room fires conditions - Analysis of some important parameters [PDF]
In a compartment fire, the breakage and possible fallout of a window glass has a significant impact on the fire dynamics. The thermal breakage of glass depends on various parameters such as glass type, edge shading, edges conditions and constraints on ...
