Dispersive Optical Wireless Indoor Channels—From Frequency-Domain Modeling to Bit-Error-Rate Prediction

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
Methods for calculating the impulse response of dispersive optical wireless channels have been known for a long time. However, a comprehensive procedure for predicting resulting bit error rates, starting from a highly accurate channel emulation method ...

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Quasi-periodic modulation of equatorial noise intensity

open access: yes, 2015
International audienceEquatorial noise (EN) emissions are electromagnetic waves at frequencies between the proton cyclotron frequency and the lower hybrid frequency observed routinely in the equatorial region of the inner magnetosphere. They propagate in

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Time Span of an Image Frame Using a CMOS Sensor in Rolling Shutter‐Based Optical Camera Communications

open access: yesIET Optoelectronics
In this paper, a rolling shutter optical camera communication system is investigated by analysing the internal working principle of a receiver based on complementary metal oxide semiconductor image sensors.
