Neutrino lines from DM decay induced by high-scale seesaw interactions
If the stability of the dark matter (DM) particle is due to an accidental symmetry, nothing prevents UV physics from destabilising it by inducing DM decays suppressed by powers of the UV scale.

Data-Intensive Physics Analysis in Azure Cloud
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is one of the largest data producers in the scientific world, with standard data products centrally produced, and then used by often competing teams within the collaboration. This work is focused on how a local institution, University of California San Diego (UCSD), partnered

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Learning science through a collaborative invention project in primary school
The study examines students’ disciplinary learning in physics and interdisciplinary science learning opportunities that students encounter during a collaborative invention project. Thirteen student teams (aged 11 to 12, N = 46) designed and constructed a

Extremely high-intensity laser interactions with fundamental quantum systems [PDF]
The field of laser-matter interaction traditionally deals with the response of atoms, molecules, and plasmas to an external light wave. However, the recent sustained technological progress is opening up the possibility of employing intense laser ...

Cognitive endurance after intense physical effort
Previous research has primarily examined the effects of cognitive exertion on subsequent physical performance, yet the reciprocal relationship—how intense physical exercise influences cognitive endurance—remains largely unexplored. This study investigated the behavioral, subjective, and neurophysiological effects of maximal aerobic effort on sustained ...

Real‐time assay of ribonucleotide reductase activity with a fluorescent RNA aptamer
Ribonucleotide reductases (RNR) synthesize DNA building blocks de novo, making them crucial in DNA replication and drug targeting. FLARE introduces the first single‐tube real‐time coupled RNR assay, which enables isothermal tracking of RNR activity at nanomolar enzyme levels and allows the reconstruction of allosteric regulatory patterns and rapid ...
