Optical Surface Vortices and Their Use in Nanoscale Manipulation [PDF]
Following a brief overview of the physics underlying the interaction of twisted light with atoms at near-resonance frequencies, the essential ingredients of the interaction of atoms with surface optical vortices are described.

This study demonstrates that KRAS and GNAS mutations are more prevalent in patients with resected intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) compared to those under clinical surveillance. GNAS mutations significantly differ between the two patient cohorts, indicating that their absence may serve as a potential biomarker to support conservative ...

LIMpy: A Semianalytic Approach to Simulating Multiline Intensity Maps at Millimeter Wavelengths
Mapping of multiple lines such as the fine-structure emission from [C ii ] (157.7 μ m), [O iii ] (52 and 88.4 μ m), and rotational emission lines from CO are of particular interest for upcoming line intensity mapping (LIM) experiments at millimeter ...

This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Neutrino lines from DM decay induced by high-scale seesaw interactions
If the stability of the dark matter (DM) particle is due to an accidental symmetry, nothing prevents UV physics from destabilising it by inducing DM decays suppressed by powers of the UV scale.

This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Learning science through a collaborative invention project in primary school
The study examines students’ disciplinary learning in physics and interdisciplinary science learning opportunities that students encounter during a collaborative invention project. Thirteen student teams (aged 11 to 12, N = 46) designed and constructed a

Systematic profiling of cancer‐fibroblast interactions reveals drug combinations in ovarian cancer
Fibroblasts, cells in the tumor environment, support ovarian cancer cell growth and alter morphology and drug response. We used fibroblast and cancer cell co‐culture models to test 528 drugs and discovered new drugs for combination treatment. We showed that adding Vorinostat or Birinapant to standard chemotherapy may improve drug response, suggesting ...

Hanbury-Brown and Twiss Intensity Correlations of Parabosons
This paper shows that in intensity correlation measurements there will be clear and unambiguous signals that new-physics particles are, or aren't, parabosons. For a parabosonic field in a dominant single-mode, there is a diagonal P-representation in the "

Neutrinos and collider physics [PDF]
We review the collider phenomenology of neutrino physics and the synergetic aspects at energy, intensity and cosmic frontiers to test the new physics behind the neutrino mass mechanism. In particular, we focus on seesaw models within the minimal setup as
