Rate-Compatible Protograph-Based LDPC Codes for Inter-Symbol Interference Channels [PDF]
This letter produces a family of rate-compatible protograph-based LDPC codes approaching the independent and uniformly distributed (i.u.d.) capacity of inter-symbol interference (ISI) channels. This problem is highly nontrivial due to the joint design of structured (protograph-based) LDPC codes and the state structure of ISI channels.

The Effects of Inter-Symbol Interference in Dynamic Element Matching DACs
Dynamic element matching (DEM) is often applied to multi-bit DACs to avoid nonlinear distortion that would otherwise result from inevitable mismatches among nominally identical circuit elements. Unfortunately, for such a DEM DAC to fully achieve this objective its constituent 1-bit DACs must be free of inter-symbol interference (ISI), i.e., the error ...

Type-Spread Molecular Communications: Principles and Inter-Symbol Interference Mitigation [PDF]
Diffusion-based Molecular Communication (DMC) is a feasible method for information transmission in some nano-networks operated in gas or liquid environments. In this paper, we first propose an information modulation scheme for DMC, which is referred to as the Type-Spread Molecular Shift Keying (TS-MoSK).

Asymmetrical inter-symbol interference in macro-scale molecular communications
Molecular communication (MC) is new method of information transmission whereby information is carried by chemical signals instead of electromagnetic (EM) waves. This shift to a new type of information carrier makes MC a viable option in circumstances where EM communication might prove inefficient, e.g., in underwater and underground communications or ...

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF FILTER BANK MULTI-CARRIER MODULATION IN MULTIPATH FADING CHANNELS
Filter Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC) modulation is one of the most significant enablers for future 5G technologies. It is a modulation technique for resolving inter-carrier and inter-symbol interference using two possible methods: Frequency Spreading (FS ...
