Inter-rater reliability of the EPUAP pressure ulcer classification system using photographs [PDF]
Background. Many classification systems for grading pressure ulcers are discussed in the literature. Correct identification and classification of a pressure ulcer is important for accurate reporting of the magnitude of the problem, and for timely ...

Mixed resolution coding with inter view prediction for mobile 3DTV
4 S.This paper presents results on mixed resolution stereo video coding including inter view prediction. The objective tests show that coding one view of a stereo pair at a lower resolution outperforms coding of a low pass filtered view at base ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Fast adaptive mode decision algorithm for H.264 based on spatial correlation
A fast adaptive inter prediction modes decision method was proposed to reduce the complexity of H.264 encoder.Firstly the candidate inter modes used in rate distortion optimization can be limited in a small mode group(MG)by using the characteristics of ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Explaining grammatical schemas with inter-predictability
Recent research has shown that words or morphemes that are closer to each other in linear order tend to have higher statistical inter-predictability, measured as mutual information. We offer an explanation for this in terms of holistic chunking of inter-predictable symbols, providing an efficiency gain in the retrieval of stored symbols to encode a ...
