Asking about Content and Adding Content: two Patterns of Classroom Interaction

open access: yesColombian Applied Linguistics Journal, 2012
This research project focuses on identifying and describing the interactional patterns and the speech acts that emerge and are maintainedthrough teacher-student interactions in a university-level EFL Pre-intermediate class.

Interaction between anomalous vortex beams in nonlocal media

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
In this paper, the interactional behaviors of anomalous vortex beams in highly nonlocal media are investigated. An analytical expression describing the interaction is given, and some numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the interactional ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Instructed L2 Interactional Competence in the First Year

open access: yes, 2019
This chapter illustrates the outcomes of the first two semesters of university language instruction targeting the development of interactional competence (IC) in Chinese as a Foreign Language, with a specific focus on active listenership and topic ...

Listening and interactional competence [PDF]

open access: yes
This chapter argues for conceptualizing listening as going beyond an individual-cognitive but also as a socio-interactional phenomenon. Through discussing three dimensions of interactive listening, it illustrates how understanding, turn-taking, and ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Interactional feedback as instructional input

open access: yes, 2010
This article reports on an increasing number of SLA studies showing that interactional feedback plays a significant role in improving classroom learners’ use of the target language.

Conversation Analysis and Interactional Linguistics

open access: yes, 2020
Interactional linguistics is grounded on the premise that language should not be analyzed in terms of context‐free linguistic structures but as a resource for the accomplishment of actions in social interaction.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Questions and questioning in Montenegrin police interviews [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Questions are never asked without a reason, and whenever a question is made, it becomes a vehicle for another action. Questions, on their most basic level, endeavour to strike up an epistemic balance between the interlocutors in that the questioner ...
