Interactivity and non-interactivity on tabletops
Proceedings of the SIGCHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2010In the growing field of tabletop computing research, there has been an understandable focus on interactive aspects of tabletop use, in terms of technology, design, and behavioural analysis. In this paper, I highlight the importance of considering also non-interactive aspects of tabletop computing and the mutually dependent relationship between ...

Embedded Interaction: Interacting with the Internet of Things
IEEE Internet Computing, 2010The Internet of Things assumes that objects have digital functionality and can be identified and tracked automatically. The main goal of embedded interaction is to look at new opportunities that arise for interactive systems and the immediate value users gain. The authors developed various prototypes to explore novel ways for human-computer interaction

LYRA: an Interactive and Interactive Storyteller
2019 IEEE International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) and IEEE International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing (EUC), 2019Storytelling has always been a crucial part of education and caring of children throughout human history. Even in modern ages with advanced digital technologies and multimedia contents, the educational impact of storytelling for children is still very important. However, modern parents have less time for reading books for their children.

Understanding cytokinesis interaction by interaction
StructureIn this issue of Structure, Hall et al.1 investigate the binding modes of anillin-like Mid1. During cytokinesis, Mid1 connects the contractile ring to the plasma membrane. Using computer simulations, the authors demonstrated how this connection is established via the L3 loop of the C2 domain.

Interactions between Interactions
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2008Ecological interactions such as those between predators and prey, parasites and hosts, and pollinators and plants are usually studied on their own while neglecting that one category of interactions can have dramatic effects on another. Such interactions between interactions will have both ecological and evolutionary effects because the actions of one ...

Noncoding RNAs form an indispensible component of the cellular information processing networks, a role that crucially depends on the specificity of their interactions among each other as well as with DNA and protein. Patterns of intramolecular and intermolecular base pairs govern most RNA interactions.

Design of experiments (DOE) is the study of how to vary control parameters to efficiently design and evaluate experiments. Main effects plot and interaction plot are two data views often used to explore differences between mean values and interactions between the DOE parameters but they are mostly limited to two parameters.
