Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Two Functionally Deviating Type 6 Secretion Systems Occur in the Nitrogen-Fixing Endophyte Azoarcus olearius BH72

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
Type VI protein secretion systems (T6SSs) have been identified in many plant-associated bacteria. However, despite the fact that effector proteins may modulate host responses or interbacterial competition, only a few have been functionally dissected in ...

Perturbative Gadgets at Arbitrary Orders

open access: yes, 2008
Adiabatic quantum algorithms are often most easily formulated using many-body interactions. However, experimentally available interactions are generally two-body. In 2004, Kempe, Kitaev, and Regev introduced perturbative gadgets, by which arbitrary three-

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Towards a refined classification of class I dithiol glutaredoxins from poplar: biochemical basis for the definition of two subclasses

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2013
Glutaredoxins (Grxs) are small oxidoreductases particularly specialized in the reduction of protein-glutathione adducts. Compared to other eukaryotic organisms, higher plants present an increased diversity of Grxs which are organized into four classes ...

Nasobronchial interaction

open access: yesWorld Journal of Clinical Cases, 2015
Upper and lower airways can be considered as a unified morphofunctional unit. In this paper, nasobronchial interactions are evaluated based on literature. To discuss nasobronchial interactions, literature review from PubMed since 1982 is evaluated. Data base was including the terms "nasobronchial interaction, nasal and bronchial".

Acceleration by Strong Interactions

open access: yes, 2017
Beyond the attractive strong potential needed for hadronic bound states, strong interactions are predicted to provide repulsive forces depending on the color charges involved.

Thermodynamic curvature measures interactions

open access: yes, 2010
Thermodynamic fluctuation theory originated with Einstein who inverted the relation $S=k_B\ln\Omega$ to express the number of states in terms of entropy: $\Omega= \exp(S/k_B)$.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
