From bis-intercalators to cell biology.
Drugs under experimental and clinical research, 1986The initial stages of cancer (and those of the cancer metastasis) can be distinguished from the later stages, when a mass of cancer cells has formed. In the former stages, most of the cancer cells are in contact with the host cells rather than with each other.

Intercalation electrodes in copper solid-state cells
Solid State Ionics, 1983Abstract The behaviour of transition-metal dichalcogenide intercalation electrodes in copper solid-state cells have been investigated by kinetic, diffusion and thermodynamic studies. The results indicate that the copper electro-intercalation process is reversible in the compounds examined, which are TiS 2 and NbS 2 .

Zero-Strain Intercalation Cathode for Rechargeable Li-Ion Cell
Angewandte Chemie, 2001No strain, big gain: the possibility of producing more-efficient rechargeable lithium batteries is offered by a zero-strain LiCoO2 cathode material produced by coating particles with thin films of high-fracture-toughness oxides. This method suppresses the changes in the lattice constant during electrochemical cycling and thereby suppresses phase ...

Intercalation positive electrodes for rechargeable sodium cells
Solid State Ionics, 1982Abstract This paper summarizes studies of intercalation compounds as positive electrodes for rechargeable Na cells. The layered transition metal dichalcogenides have received the greatest attention to date. The basic and applied research aspects of Na intercalation positive electrode chemistry are in their early stages, offering many opportunities ...

Terminal Differentiation of Intercalated Cells: The Role of Hensin
Annual Review of Physiology, 2003▪ Abstract During the response to metabolic acidosis, the intercalated cell of the collecting tubule converts from one that secretes HCO3− to one that absorbs HCO3− by H+ secretion. The molecular basis of this complex change in phenotype was studied in an immortalized intercalated cell line.
