Measurement of Diffusion and Segregation in Semiconductor Quantum Dots and Quantum Wells by Transmission Electron Microscopy: A Guide

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
Strategies are discussed to distinguish interdiffusion and segregation and to measure key parameters such as diffusivities and segregation lengths in semiconductor quantum dots and quantum wells by electron microscopy methods.

Interdiffusion at polyimide interfaces

open access: yesPolymer, 1992
Abstract Interdiffusion at interfaces between deuterated polyamic acid (d-PAA) and polyimide (PI) films was investigated with forward recoil spectrometry, an ion beam analysis technique. The PI films were prepared by spin coating a solution of PAA on a silicon substrate, followed by an anneal at a temperature T i , which produced partial or ...

Overcoming the Trade‐Off Between Magnetic Coupling and Electrical Insulation in Soft Magnetic Materials via Nanochain Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs a nanochain engineering approach combined with an in situ oxidation strategy to fabricate self‐insulating iron‐based magnetic nanochains, addressing the challenge of balancing magnetic coupling and electrical insulation in soft magnetic materials.

Interdiffusion in Ni3Al

open access: yes, 1997
Interdiffusion experiments have been made for Ni3Al using single-phase diffusion couples over the temperature range from 1273 K to 1473 K. The interdiffusion coefficient is larger than the self-diffusion coefficient of Ni by about an order of magnitude ...

Machine‐Learning Framework for Designing Stable Interfaces in All‐Solid‐State Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A data‐driven strategy is developed to discover coating materials for all‐solid‐state lithium batteries. Using calculations of interfacial reactivity, unsupervised pattern recognition, and machine‐learning prediction, the study identifies low‐reactivity compositional patterns and screens new lithium‐based oxide and polyanion candidates, extending ...

Interdiffusion in Semiconductor Quantum Dot Structures

open access: yes, 2002
The potential profile of InGaAs quantum dots (QDs) was shown to be easily modified with annealing. We also demonstrate the use of spin-on-glass to create interdiffusion in QDs but the degree of interdiffusion was strongly dependent on the properties of ...

Systematic Phosphorus‐Driven Structural and Field Engineering of n‐a‐Si:H for Flexible n‐a‐Si:H/Te Near‐Infrared Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our research elucidates the systematic evolution of the microstructure and optoelectronic properties of n‐a‐Si:H governed by the phosphine dilution ratio. Optimally phosphorus‐doped n‐a‐Si:H is integrated with Te to form a flexible heterojunction, enabling high‐performance near‐infrared photodetectors.

Lightweight, Elastic Ceramic Fabrics for Broadband Electromagnetic Absorption and High Temperature Thermal Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports lightweight, elastic ceramic fabrics with broadband electromagnetic absorption (EAB = 9.8 GHz) and high‐temperature thermal insulation, enabled by precise microstructural control during ultrafast high‐temperature sintering (UHS), which induces the precipitation of defect‐rich t‐ZrO2 nanograins and turbostratic C nanoclusters.
