Sound and tangible interface for shape evaluation and modification
2008 IEEE International Workshop on Haptic Audio visual Environments and Games, 2008One of the recent research topics in the area of design and virtual prototyping is offering designers tools for creating and modifying shapes in a natural and interactive way. Multimodal interaction is part of this research. It allows conveying to the users information through different sensory channels. The use of more modalities than touch and vision

Assessment of three interface elements and modification of the interface element in CRISP90
Computers and Geotechnics, 1997Abstract To model the interaction between a buried pipeline and the surrounding soil either special interface elements or thin conventional elements may be used. In this study the CRISP90 interface element, the DRCRISP interface element and a conventional 8-noded quadrilateral element have been examined and their behaviour compared for a variety of ...

Modification of the interface in SiC/Al composites
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 2000Methodologies both to avoid the formation of Al4C3 and to tailor the interfacial structures in a SiC/2014 Al composite were demonstrated. Modification of the interfacial structures in the SiC/2014 Al composite was made by forming SiO2 layers on the surfaces of SiC via passive oxidation at elevated temperatures.

Interface Modification for Organic Solar Cells
International Photonics and OptoElectronics, 2015Annealing-free and stable TiO2 nanocrystalline particles (TiO2 NPs) was synthesized and used as an interface modification layer in both conventional and inverted organic solar cells as well as in perovskite solar cells, of which the PCEs and stability were improved dramatically.

Surface and Interface Modification of Polymers
MRS Bulletin, 1996The properties of polymeric surfaces and interfaces are ubiquitous in their myriad commercial applications: paints and coatings, adhesives, lubrication, biocompatible materials, flocculation and steric stabilization of colloids, membranes and separation media, immiscible polymer blends, and filled composites.

Gold–silicon interface modification studies
Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology B: Microelectronics and Nanometer Structures Processing, Measurement, and Phenomena, 1991We have performed ballistic electron emission microscopy measurements on the Au–Si system with and without controlled monolayer impurities at the interface. At moderate sample to scanning tunneling microscopy tip biases (<2.5 V) we have observed, and at high biases (>3 V) modified the local ballistic transmittance (BT), i.e.

Shearing of Polymer Drops with Interface Modification
Macromolecules, 1999The influence of block copolymers (BCP) and interfacial reaction on the deformation of 30−100 μm polymer drops inside an immiscible polymer matrix was visualized in a parallel plate, counterrotating apparatus. Symmetric diblock copolymers were blended into polypropylene (PP), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), and polyethylene (PE) homopolymers.

Physical Review B, 1990
We have carried out ab initio self-consistent calculations to investigate the extent to which the band offset can be modified by polar layers. The cases studied are double layers of Ge in bulk GaAs (for which the offsets are totally due to induced dipoles) in (100) and two distinctly different (111) geometries.
