Preparation and interface modification of Si3N4f/SiO2 composites

Abstract In order to modify the interface, SiON coating was introduced on the surface of silicon nitride fiber by perhydropolysilazane conversion method. Si3N4f/SiO2 and Si3N4f/SiONc/SiO2 composites were prepared by sol-gel method to explore the influence of SiON coating on the mechanical properties of composites.

Reactivity and surface modification at a Bi/Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 interface

Abstract The interface behaviour of the high-temperature superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 with bismuth metal has been investigated by using X-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopies. Weak reactivity and sharp interface formation were observed between the metal and the superconductor.

Parametric Speech Synthesis and User Interface for Speech Modification

A new parametric allophone-to-speech synthesis system of the Russian language is described. It is assumed that a sequence of allophones with prosodic information is given and it is required to compute the corresponding speech signal. Allophones are stored in the database by model parameter sets only. The model of a voiced signal is purely polyharmonic.
