Simple Interface Modification of Electroactive Polymer Film Electrodes
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2019Understanding the role of interface properties is crucial in the search for alternative design strategies to optimize the efficiency, performance, and lifetime of both solid-state and redox active organic semiconductor devices. Recent advances have focused on controlling and tailoring interfacial effects on the morphology and molecular structure of the

Systematic output modification in a 2D user interface toolkit
Proceedings of the 10th annual ACM symposium on User interface software and technology - UIST '97, 1997In this paper we present a simple but general set of techniques for modifying output in a 2D user interface toolkit. We use a combination of simple subclassing, wrapping, and collusion between parent and output objects to produce arbitrary sets of composable output transformations.

X-ray induced modification of metal/fluoropolymer interfaces
Journal of Applied Physics, 1993Metal adhesion to polymers depends on the chemical structure at the interface. In the present work, we study the evaporation of Cr, Ti, and Au onto Teflon PFA (perfluoromethyl-vinyl-ether) substrates, and we modify the interface by post-deposition x-ray irradiation.

Interface modification by swift heavy ions
Radiation Measurements, 2003The modification of thin layer interfaces by ion irradiation (ion beam mixing) is the most elegant way to learn about the atomic transport processes induced by the energy deposited along the ions path. Ion beam mixing in the nuclear stopping regime has been intensively studied for about 30 years, while ion beam mixing by electronic energy deposition ...

Analysis of surface and interface modifications of thin multilayered films
Surface and Coatings Technology, 1998Abstract An important requirement in film deposition is assessing the characteristics of its surface and internal interfaces. Low angle, high resolution X-ray diffraction, X-ray reflectivity and surface Brillouin scattering are used to determine structure, layer thickness and roughness as well as film acoustic properties, thus providing a detailed ...

Interface modification by irradiation with alpha particles
Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2017The performance of electronic devices and systems get degraded when they are exposed to radiation above a certain limit or over longer duration and the process is called radiation damage. The performance degradation is due to the damage caused to the interface by the radiation.

Histone Modifications and Asthma. The Interface of the Epigenetic and Genetic Landscapes
American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology, 2016Abstract Complex lung diseases, such as asthma, are influenced by both genetic predisposition and environmental stimuli. The epigenetic landscape of such diseases is attracting increasing interest and research. Epigenetics broadly covers the transient and the inheritable changes to gene expression that are not directly due to changes ...

Modification of the Bearing Interfaces of a TKR7С-6 Turbocharger
Journal of Machinery Manufacture and Reliability, 2020This article explores the possibility of enhancing the functionality of TKR7С-6 turbochargers by creating new friction pairs in bearing interfaces using ultrasolid ceramic coatings. According to the tests, the most efficient combination of materials for slider bearings is the friction pair including the ultrasolid B4C-BN coating and BrAZH9-4 bronze ...

Aerosol and Solution Modification of Particle-Polymer Interfaces
The Journal of Adhesion, 1998Abstract In recent years several investigators have focused on the synthesis of uniformly and continuously coated particles to impart improved chemical stability, mechanical strength, morphology and/or dispersibility to powders required for preparing next-generation composities.
