Local two-group bubble size model for adiabatic air–water flow in a large diameter pipe using CFD code

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Accurate prediction of bubble behavior in large diameter pipes is crucial for evaluating the performance of safety systems, steam generators, and heat exchangers in nuclear systems.

Plasma EV Proteomics Identifies ECM Remodeling and Inflammatory Proteins LUM and C7 as Candidate Biomarkers in FSHD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...

Integrating Time‐Adjusted Imaging Instability Into Functional Outcome Prediction After Intracerebral Hemorrhage: Development and Validation of the HAGIV Score

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Early risk stratification may support clinical decision‐making in spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). We aimed to develop and internally validate HAGIV, a score integrating frequency of imaging markers (FIM), a time‐adjusted non‐contrast computed tomography (CT) metric of hematoma expansion, with established predictors for 90‐

Modification of SAC0307/Cu solder joints by FeCoNiCrCu particles: microstructure, comprehensive properties and aging reliability

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
The effects of adding varying amounts of FeCoNiCrCu particles on the microstructure, interfacial reaction, wettability, shear strength, and isothermal aging reliability of SAC0307/Cu solder joints were systematically investigated.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

One-group interfacial area transport in vertical air-water bubbly flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
In the two-fluid model for two-phase flows, interfacial area concentration is one of the most important closure relations that should be obtained from careful mechanistic modeling.

Surface and Solubilisation Activities of 1-Amino-2-alkyloxynaphthalene-4-sodium Sulphonates

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2004
A series of 1-amino-2-alkyloxynaphthalene-4-sodium sulphonates was prepared by using octyl bromide, dodecyl bromide and cetyl bromide, respectively, with the sodium salt of 1-amino-2-naphthol-4-sulphonic acid in sodium ethoxide solution.

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

Carboxylic‐Acid Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube‐Alkane‐Based Resistive Temperature Sensor for Cold Chain Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

Interfacial area transport equation and measurement of local interfacial characteristics

open access: yes, 1999
The motivation of the present study originated from the necessity of the closure relation for the interfacial area concentration in the application of the two-fluid model.
