Regulated Self-Folding in Multi-Layered Hydrogels Considered with an Interfacial Layer [PDF]

open access: yesGels
Multi-layered hydrogels consisting of bi- or tri-layers with different swelling ratios are designed to soft hydrogel actuators by self-folding. The successful use of multi-layered hydrogels in this application greatly relies on the precise design and ...

Improvement of the Bias Stress Stability in 2D MoS2 and WS2 Transistors with a TiO2 Interfacial Layer [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
The fermi-level pinning phenomenon, which occurs at the metal−semiconductor interface, not only obstructs the achievement of high-performance field effect transistors (FETs) but also results in poor long-term stability.

The influence of the conduction band engineering on the perovskite solar cell performance

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2022
The present work investigated numerically, using SCAPS software, the impact of conduction band alignment between the absorber and electron transport layer (ETL) on the perovskite solar cell performance.

Interfacial Layering in the Electric Double Layer of Ionic Liquids [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2020
Ions in ionic liquids and concentrated electrolytes reside in a crowded, strongly-interacting environment, leading to the formation of discrete layers of charges at interfaces. Here, we propose a continuum theory that captures the transition from overscreening-- alternating layers of excess charge at low surface potential, to overcrowding-- the ...

Bifunctional Cellulose Interlayer Enabled Efficient Perovskite Solar Cells with Simultaneously Enhanced Efficiency and Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
Interfacial engineering is a vital strategy to enable high‐performance perovskite solar cells (PSCs). To develop efficient, low‐cost, and green biomass interfacial materials, here, a bifunctional cellulose derivative is presented, 6‐O‐[4‐(9H‐carbazol‐9 ...

Viscoelastic interfacial modes in a wetting layer [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 1993
Brillouin scattering from an evanescent wave enables us to study the dynamic structure factor S (k,ω) of fluids within 1 μm of a solid wall. Two interfacial fluid modes are found in a demixed binary-fluid system where a wetting layer of the heavy phase intrudes between the lighter phase and the solid wall.

Effects of interfacial layer on thermal conductivity enhancement of solar salt-based nanofluids: Insights from molecular dynamics simulations

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2022
The interfacial nano-layers around the nanoparticles (NPs) affect the effective thermal conductivity (ETC) of molten salt-based nanofluids (MSBNFs), which brings challenge in fabricating MSBNFs with enhanced ETC.
