Local Field Enhancement Due to the Edge States of Nanoplasmonic Crystal

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
In this paper, we describe the effect of local electric field enhancement due to the existence of photonic edge states in a nanoplasmonic crystal. These states can be excited by a normal incident wave and are localized along the continuous line defect ...

Optimized T-shaped resonator via local enhancement model integration within a cell for enhanced Rydberg-atom receiver sensing [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications Engineering
Rydberg atom with resonators is regarded as promising atomic receivers to surpass conventional receivers’ sensitivity. However, previous research has presented diverse open resonator structures, focusing on design yet lacking in theoretical guidance ...

Local Field Enhancement: Comparing Self-Similar and Dimer Nanoantennas [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physical Chemistry C, 2016
We study the local field enhancement properties of self-similar nanolenses and compare the obtained results with the performance of standard dimer nanoantennas. We report that, despite the additional structural complexity, self-similar nanolenses are unable to provide significant improvements over the field enhancement performance of standard plasmonic

Strong Field Enhancement and Unidirectional Scattering Based on Asymmetric Nanoantenna

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Dielectric-metal nanostructures have lately emerged as one of the most promising approaches to modulating light at the optical frequency. Their remarkable electric and magnetic resonances give them a one-of-a-kind ability to augment local field ...

Fluorescent Microscopy of Hot Spots Induced by Laser Heating of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Determination of the iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) local temperature during laser heating is important in the aspect of laser phototherapy. We have carried out theoretical modeling of IONPs local electromagnetic (EM) field enhancement and heating ...

Local field enhancement effects for nanostructuring of surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, 2001
We report on a method that allows the nanostructuring of surfaces with intense laser pulses. For this purpose isolated polystyrene spheres with diameters in the order of the laser wavelength were deposited on a silicon or glass surface. Illumination with short and ultrashort laser pulses produced holes underneath these particles.

Sensitivity enhancement of plasmonic grating in the local field

open access: yesOptics Express, 2020
A plasmonic grating consisting of parallel gold or silver nanowires on the glass substrate is an excellent sensor for refractive index measurement of a gas or liquid medium. We suggest measuring the local field in a gap between the wires to increase the sensitivity. The local electric field contains more information on the environment since it includes

Near-Field Second-Harmonic Generation Induced by Local Field Enhancement [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2003
The field near a sharp metal tip can be strongly enhanced if irradiated with an optical field polarized along the tip axis. We demonstrate that the enhanced field gives rise to local second-harmonic (SH) generation at the tip surface thereby creating a highly confined photon source. A theoretical model for the excitation and emission of SH radiation at
