Measurements of field enhancement introduced by a local electrode
Direct measurements of field enhancement introduced by a local electrode have been carried out on a scanning atom probe (SAP). The results show that an enhancement factor of more than 2 can be obtained simply by reducing the specimen-to-electrode distance from 1.5 mm to 10 microm.

Local-field enhancement and plasmon tuning in bimetallic nanoplanets [PDF]
A full-interaction electromagnetic approach is applied to interpret the local- and far-field properties of AuAg alloy nanoplanets (i.e. a central cluster surrounded by small "satellite" clusters very close to its surface) fabricated in silica by ion implantation and ion irradiation techniques.

Local field enhancement of nano-structured metallic target irradiated by polarized laser beam [PDF]
The local field enhancement is studied numerically in samples of metallic nanoparticles (NPs) randomly distributed over a metallic substrate. The sample was assumed to be irradiated by polarized laser beam. Based on dipole-dipole approximation (DDA), the

For p-polarized light incident on an interface between an ordinary dielectric and an epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) material, an enhancement of the component of the electric field, normal to this interface, has been shown to occur.

Enhancement Mode Ga2O3 Field Effect Transistor with Local Thinning Channel Layer
β−Ga2O3 field−effect transistors (FETs) were fabricated with and without local thinning to change the threshold voltage. A 220 nm Ga2O3 layer was mechanically exfoliated from a Cr−doped gallium oxide single crystal.

Local enhancement of the mean-field approximation for bosons
We study the quantum many-body dynamics of a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) on the lattice in the mean-field regime. We derive a local enhancement of the mean-field approximation: At positive distance $ρ>0$ from the initial BEC, the mean-field approximation error at time $t\leq ρ/v$ is bounded as $ρ^{-n}$, for arbitrarily large $n\geq 1$.

Lattice Resonances and Local Field Enhancement in Array of Dielectric Dimers for Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy. [PDF]
In this paper, we propose the use of high refractive index dimers for the realization of a surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy substrate, with an average enhancement factor comparable to plasmonic structures.

Studies of enhanced field emission relevant to high field superconducting radio frequency devices [PDF]
Surface roughness represents the measure of the irregularities on the surface contributing to the local field enhancement. The traditional Fowler-Nordheim equation established for perfectly planar surfaces is not suitable for describing emission from ...
