Characterization of nano-oxide layers fabricated by ion beam oxidation

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper, a remote O2 ion source is used for the formation of nano-oxide layers. The oxidation efficiency was measured in CoFe-oxide films, and a decrease of the oxide layer with the pan angle and the oxidation pressure is observed.

Interfacial microstructure analysis of Cu-Ce/Al-Mg alloy composite strips during annealing process

open access: yesHanjie xuebao
The effect of annealing treatment on the interfacial structure of Cu-Ce/Al-Mg alloy composite strips was investigated in this paper. No interfacial phase was formed after annealing at 200 ℃ and 250 ℃.

Artificial Intelligence and Mental Well‐Being in Adult Education: Implications for Practice and Professional Responsibility

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mental well‐being is central to adult learner success, yet many adult education institutions lack capacity to provide timely and accessible support. This article examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can strengthen mental health–adjacent supports in adult and continuing higher education, with attention to professional practice and ...

Effect of Mn Interfacial Doping in Polycrystalline Thin Films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this study the York Model has been used to find the origin of the increase in the exchange field (Hex) when 1-2 atomic layers of Mn are added to the interface of CoFe/IrMn polycrystalline sputtered thin films.

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Double Glass Transitions and Interfacial Immobilized Layer in in-Situ-Synthesized Poly(vinyl alcohol)/Silica Nanocomposites

open access: yes, 2010
The results of dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) revealed that there were double tan 6 peaks in tile poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)/silica nanocomposite samples at low frequencies. The two relaxations attribute to glass transition for PVA matrix and motions of

Nonlinear stability of the one-domain approach to modelling convection in superposed fluid and porous layers

open access: yes, 2010
Studies of the nonlinear stability of fluid/porous systems have been developed very recently. A two-domain modelling approach has been adopted in previous works, but was restricted to specific configurations.
