YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Mechanics of inhomogeneous turbulence and interfacial layers

open access: yes, 2006
The mechanics of inhomogeneous turbulence in and adjacent to interfacial layers bounding turbulent and non-turbulent regions are analysed. Different mechanisms are identified according to the straining by the turbulent eddies in relation to the strength ...

Stabilizing Lithium Metal Surface in Solid‐State Batteries via Single‐Step Gas‐Phase Synthesis of Li3N Interfacial Layer

open access: yesSmall Structures
The performance of solid‐state Li‐metal batteries (SSLBs) with argyrodite solid electrolytes (SEs) is limited by interfacial side reactions at the Li‐metal/SE interface.

Dual interfacial modification of hematite electron transport layer for efficient and stable perovskite solar cells

open access: yesResults in Engineering
This research investigates the dual interfacial modification of hematite (Fe₂O₃) electron transport layers (ETL) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) by introducing 4-trifluorophenylammonium iodide (CF₃PhAI) to improve device performance and stability.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

A note on the flow of a homogeneous intrusion into a two-layer fluid

open access: yes, 2007
The intrusion of a constant density fluid at the interface of a two-layer fluid is considered. Numerical solutions are computed for a model of a steady intrusion resulting from flow down a bank and across a broad lake or reservoir.

Modeling Interfacial Electron Transfer in the Double Layer: The Interplay Between Electrode Coupling and Electrostatic Driving

open access: yes, 2019
This manuscript presents a theoretical model for simulating interfacial electron transfer reactions within the electrical double layer. This model resolves the population density of redox active species and simulated electron transfer at the level of ...
