Interfacial modification of organic photovoltaic devices by molecular self-organization

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2012
This feature article focuses on the relationship between the interfacial structures constructed by molecular self-organization and the properties of organic photovoltaic devices. The use of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) is reviewed for metal and metal oxide/organic interfaces, while surface-segregated monolayers (SSMs) are introduced as a new method

Interfacial modification of polypropylene composites filled with magnesium hydroxide

Journal of Materials Science, 1995
The mechanical behaviour of polypropylene composites containing magnesium hydroxide is considered with reference to the influence on properties of filler surface modification. Compared to composites containing untreated filler, mechanical properties can be strongly affected by the chemical nature and amount of surface treatment applied.

Interfacial modification for an aluminum/epoxy resin laminated composite

Composite Interfaces, 1994
The surface of aluminum plates were modified by coating with a thin layer of copper and subsequently reacting with 2-mercaptobenzimidazole (MBIH) or benzotriazole (BTAH). Chemisorption of an epoxy compound on top of adsorbed MBIH and BTAH on copper metal has been investigated by the use of surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS).

Modification of the Interfacial Zone Between Aggregate and Cement Paste

MRS Proceedings, 1987
ABSTRACTIn order to improve the properties of concrete, the composition and structure of the interfacial zone must be modified. This may be done by pretreating the inert aggregate with special reagents to form a reactive surface, which will then react with the cement paste, resulting in an enhancement of the bond strength between cement paste and ...

Chemical Modification of Polysaccharides — Modification of Dextran Through Interfacial Condensation with Organostannane Halides

1983
Today, when sources of feedstocks, such as petroleum based compounds, are being consumed at a faster rate than they are being discovered, there is a need for conservation, renewing of feedstocks and development of readily available, regenerable natural feedstocks. Polysaccharides are one such readily available, natural feedstock.

Influence of interfacial modification on the thermal conductivity of polymer composites

Journal of Materials Science, 2009
In this study, the influence of modifying ZnO filler with surface-treating agents on the thermal conductivity of the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) composites was reported. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were applied to analyze the surface modification of ZnO filler and the fractured ...

Interfacial Modification of Lithium Metal Anode by Boron Nitride Nanosheets

ACS Nano
Metallic lithium (Li) is the most attractive anode for Li batteries because it holds the highest theoretical specific capacity (3860 mA h g-1) and the lowest redox potential (-3.040 V vs SHE). However, the poor interface stability of the Li anode, which is caused by the high reactivity and dendrite formation of metallic Li upon cycling, leads to ...
