The Be star o Cas is indeed the primary of a triple system

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Analysis of radial velocities of two narrow absorption components in the Mg II 4481 Å line demonstrated that the secondary of the Be star o Cas is indeed a close binary system composed of two B7 stars orbiting each other with a period of 11.″6604 11

Wavelength and Polarization Multiplexed Nonlocal Metasurface for Quantitative Phase Microscopy

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.
A nonlocal metasurface with wavelength and polarization multiplexed optical transfer functions is demonstrated for performing quantitative phase imaging. The metasurface uses the angular dispersion of optical routing guided mode resonances to extract phase gradient information along different directions for phase retrieval. ABSTRACT Imaging transparent

Double Stars, Double Disks: Discovering the Young Companion of Herbig Be Star MWC 340

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present the discovery of a young, close-in companion to the early B-type Herbig Be star MWC 340 (V1685 Cyg), a rare system known to host a protoplanetary disk.

Thickness‐Dependent Plasma Activation in Binder‐Free Multilayer Ni–Co–O Anodes for Alkaline Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Depth‐limited nitrogen plasma activation in binder‐free multilayer Ni–Co–O anodes enables thickness‐dependent surface modification. Plasma treatment induces enrichment of Co at the surface, increases nanoscale roughness and pore density, improves wettability, and strengthens interfacial cohesion.

Detection and Astrometry of the Ba–Bb Subsystem in α Piscium: First Dual-field Interferometry at the CHARA Array

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We present the first on-sky demonstration of dual-field interferometry at the Center for High Angular Resolution Astronomy (CHARA) Array and the first direct resolution of the inner Ba–Bb subsystem in the bright hierarchical triple α Piscium.

Profiling Co‐Occurrent Morphological Phenotypes and Their Degree of Expression Severity in Vacuolated Cells by Holo‐Tomographic Flow Cytometry and Fractal Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
HTFC gets 3D refractive index tomograms of flowing cells. Label‐free monocytes are engineered to express patterns of cytoplasmic vacuoles. From the tomogram, an efficient dimensionality reduction is operated. Interpretable features are extracted to classify the expression severity of phenotypes coexisting in each cell, visually represented by a seven ...

Pre-nova Observations of T CrB: A View from the CHARA Array

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
T Coronae Borealis (T CrB, HD 143454) is a symbiotic recurrent nova consisting of a red giant and white dwarf with recent eruptions in 1866 and 1946 and an anticipated eruption in the mid-2020s.

Noise Resilient Real‐Time Phase Imaging via Undetected Light

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2026.
Quantum imaging with undetected light enables decoupled illumination and detection, but real‐time operation under strong noise conditions remains challenging. By combining nonlinear interferometry with off‐axis holography, this work demonstrates real‐time amplitude and phase imaging at up to 4 Hz, even when noise exceeds the signal by an order of ...

A Search for Be Stars in Multiple Systems within the Solar Neighborhood

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Be stars are widely considered to be the product of binary interaction. However, whether all Be stars are formed via binary interaction is unclear, and detailed estimates of the multiplicity of Be stars and characterization of their components are ...

Record Index–Bandgap Trade‐Off: CdPS3 as a High‐Index van der Waals Platform for Ultraviolet–Visible Nanophotonics

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 11, 13 June 2026.
The fundamental index–bandgap trade‐off strictly limits materials for short‐wavelength nanophotonics. The van der Waals crystal CdPS3 emerges as a compelling alternative platform challenging this paradigm. Combining an exceptionally high refractive index approaching 3 with a broad mid‐infrared‐to‐ultraviolet transparency window, CdPS3 unlocks new ...
