The Metallicity of Intergalactic Gas in Cosmic Voids [PDF]
We have used the Hubble/STIS and FUSE archives of ultraviolet spectra of bright AGN to identify intergalactic Lya absorbers in nearby (z < 0.1) voids. From a parent sample of 651 Lya absorbers, we identified 61 void absorbers located more than 1.4/h_70 Mpc from the nearest L* or brighter galaxy.

How do atomic code uncertainties affect abundance measurements in the intracluster medium?
Abstract Accurate chemical abundance measurements of X‐ray‐emitting atmospheres pervading massive galaxies, galaxy groups, and clusters provide essential information on the star formation and chemical enrichment histories of these large‐scale structures.

The ultraviolet background (intergalactic gas, the Galaxy, and subcosmic rays) [PDF]
(1)Observations. – A survey is made of observations of the background radiation at UV wavelengths from above the atmosphere. Sources of the background radiation and ways of determining the extragalactic component of the background are discussed. Future observations are also discussed.(2)Cosmology.

Bounds on sterile neutrino lifetime and mixing angle with active neutrinos by global 21 cm signal
Sterile neutrinos can be a possible candidate for dark matter. Sterile neutrinos are radiatively unstable and can inject photon energy into the intergalactic medium (IGM).

Direct Images of the Cosmic Web of Intergalactic and Circumgalactic Gas in the Distant Universe
International audienceMost of the baryonic matter of the Universe resides in a highly-ionized gaseous intergalactic medium. This gas flows along dark-matter filaments toward galaxy superclusters, clusters, and groups until it pools around the galaxies ...

Detection of intergalactic gas in distant, rich clusters [PDF]
WE have detected a reduction in intensity or ‘cooling’ of the cosmic microwave background as this radiation passes through several rich clusters of galaxies. These observations imply the presence of substantial quantities of hot intergalactic gas in the clusters observed.

HIPASS Detection of an Intergalactic Gas Cloud in the NGC 2442 Group [PDF]
We report the discovery from the H I Parkes All-Sky Survey (HIPASS) of a gas cloud associated with the asymmetric spiral galaxy NGC 2442. This object, designated HIPASS J0731-69, contains ~109 Msolar of H I, or nearly one-third as much atomic gas as NGC 2442 itself.

The entropy and energy of intergalactic gas in galaxy clusters [PDF]
Studies of the X-ray surface brightness profiles of clusters, coupled with theoretical considerations, suggest that the breaking of self-similarity in the hot gas results from an `entropy floor', established by some heating process, which affects the structure of the intracluster gas strongly in lower mass systems.

Limits on Intergalactic Dust During Reionization [PDF]
In this Letter, we constrain the dust-to-gas ratio in the intergalactic medium (IGM) at high redshifts. We employ models for dust in the local Universe to contrain the dust-to-gas ratio during the epoch of reionization at redshifts z ~ 6-10. The observed
