Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Homotopy Interior-Point Method for a General Multiobjective Programming Problem

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
We present a combined homotopy interior-point method for a general multiobjective programming problem. For solving the KKT points of the multiobjective programming problem, the homotopy equation is constructed. We prove the existence and convergence of a

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Efficiency and Convergence Insights in Large-Scale Optimization Using the Improved Inexact–Newton–Smart Algorithm and Interior-Point Framework

open access: yesMathematics
We present a head-to-head evaluation of the Improved Inexact–Newton–Smart (INS) algorithm against a primal–dual interior-point framework for large-scale nonlinear optimization.

Interior point method based contact analysis algorithm for structural analysis of electronic device models

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2015
In this paper, we present an algorithm for frictionless contact problems of linear elastic bodies with multi-point constraints. Our algorithm is based on an interior point method and is developed for large scale stress analysis of electronic device ...

Analysis of Interior-Point Paths

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, 2006
Infeasible-interior-point paths are the main tools in interior-point methods for solving many kinds of optimization problems. These paths are usually parametrized by a penalty-parameter r ↓ 0 and further parameters describing their off-centrality and infeasiblilty. Starting with an early result of C. Witzgall et al.
