Consolidation of B4C-TaB2 eutectic composites by spark plasma sintering
The in situ synthesis/consolidation of B4C-TaB2 eutectic composites by spark plasma sintering (SPS) is reported. The microstructure–property relations were determined for composites with the B4C-TaB2 eutectic composition as functions of TaB2 content, and

Crevice corrosion of U75V high-speed rail steel with varying crevice gap size by in-situ monitoring
Crevice corrosion of high-speed rail steel U75V was studied with varying gap size by using self-designed device. Increasing gap size inhibited exterior cathodic reduction reaction of oxygen, inducing decrease of potential difference between interior and ...

Evaluation of true interlamellar spacing from microstructural observations [PDF]
A method for evaluating true interlamellar spacing from micrographs is proposed for a multidomained lamellar structure. The microstructure of these materials is assumed to be composed of many domains with the lamellae aligned roughly parallel to each other within each domain and with the domains themselves randomly oriented relative to one another.

Preparation of Composite Hydrogel Based on Polyacrylamide and the Effect of Kaolinite on Its Properties in the Reservoir Conditions [PDF]
A gel composite (based on polyacrylamide and crosslinker Cr(III) acetate) was prepared by solvent method (distillate and water formation) and nanoclay particle (kaolinite). Using XRD tests, d001 was evaluated for kaolinite nanoparticles in gel composite.

Effect of Interlamellar Spacing on the Monotonic Behavior of C70 Pearlitic Steel [PDF]
The effect of interlamellar spacing on monotonic behavior of C70 pearlitic steel was investigated. Tensile tests under X-ray diffraction coupled with self-consistent model have been used to identify the role of interlamellar spacing on the ferrite plasticity parameters and residual stresses.

Influence of growth velocity v and temperature gradient G on the interlamellar spacing λ of FeC unidirectionally crystallized eutectic [PDF]
The paper presents the results of investigations concerning the influence of growth velocity (v) and temperature gradient (G) on the interlamellar spacing (λ) in an irregular iron-carbon (Fe-C) eutectic unidirectionally crystallized.
