Effect of expansive agent and internal curing agent on crack resistance of C50 silica fume wet-mix shotcrete

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2019
High-strength shotcrete is always needed to strengthen rock support. However, it will reversely increase the crack risk. Crack normally goes against the durability and shortens the service life of shotcrete.

Smaller is better: nanobodies meet NMR

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nanobodies are single‐domain antigen‐binding fragments derived from camelid heavy chain antibodies. Their small size, high stability, and exceptional specificity make nanobodies uniquely useful probes for NMR studies of protein dynamics, transient conformational states, and protein–protein interactions.

Influence of different composite curing agents on the rapid curing characteristics and mechanical performance of epoxy resins

open access: yesAIP Advances
To address the need for rapid in situ plugging and repair of hydraulic machinery and chemical pipelines and to resolve the issue that a single curing agent cannot simultaneously achieve rapid curing and excellent mechanical properties in epoxy resin ...

Mechanical and Microstructural Properties of Ultra-High Performance Concrete with Lightweight Aggregates

open access: yesBuildings, 2022
Although ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) presents superior mechanical properties and durability compared to conventional concrete; its spalling resistance to elevated temperatures is much lower compared to conventional concrete due to the high ...

Reactions and Curings of Internal Epoxides

open access: yesThe Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry, Japan, 1962

Invisible but not inaccessible—Revealing transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins with solution NMR and complementary methods

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

Some properties of thermal insulating cement mortar using Ponza aggregate

open access: yesOpen Engineering, 2023
Lightweight aggregate (LWA) mortar is made using lightweight or low-density aggregate, which improves properties such as thermal insulation, durability for freezing and thawing, fire and temperature resistance, and sound insulation. This research aims to

Influence of Superabsorbent Polymer in Self-Compacting Mortar

open access: yesBuildings, 2023
Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is an innovative type of concrete that does not require vibration for compaction; however, it needs attention in relation to the control of thermally generated cracks, due to the hydration heat generated mainly during the ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
