Dose formation and hematologic effects with prolonged internal exposure of rats by isotope 131I [PDF]

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2014
Processes in single dose formation and long-term domestic revenue 131I in rats was investigated. Original method of estimating absorbed doses in hemacyte for makrodozimetric indicators was proposed. Dose factors for hemacyte and the dynamics of the blood-

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

A Software-Defined Radio Simulation Method using Observer Patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A problem with object-oriented simulation models is that internal model states are hidden and cannot be monitored easily. Object-oriented models are essentially black-box models.

Improved scientific basis for human health risk assessment factors by toxicokinetic population modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Exposure limits or guidelines are derived to protect humans from adverse effects caused by exposure to chemical substances in the environment or at the workplace. The internal dose of a chemical is determined by toxicokinetic (TK) processes such as

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Credit Risk Assessment Considering Variations in Exposure: Application to Commitment Lines [PDF]

open access: yes
Given the worldwide financial market confusion caused by the subprime mortgage problem and the increase in credit line contracts with relaxed covenants, there have been cases in which financial institutions are facing a demand to provide additional ...

Internal Bisphenol Analogue Exposure in an Elderly Chinese Population: Knowledge from Dietary Exposure

open access: yesToxics
Due to its endocrine-disrupting effects and neurotoxicity, Bisphenol A (BPA) has been banned from some products and some countries; therefore, alternatives are increasingly being used.

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Comparison of dermal and inhalation routes of entry for organic chemicals [PDF]

open access: yes
The quantitative comparison of the chemical concentration inside the body as the result of a dermal exposure versus an inhalation exposure is useful for assessing human health risks and deciding on an appropriate protective posture.

The time course of processing external and internal features of unfamiliar faces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The time course of processing internal and external facial features was studied in a sequential face matching task, where first a target face was presented, followed by a test face.
