Unbiased high-throughput characterization of mussel transcriptomic responses to sublethal concentrations of the biotoxin okadaic acid [PDF]
Background. Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) responsible for Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning (DSP) represent a major threat for human consumers of shellfish. The biotoxin Okadaic Acid (OA), a well-known phosphatase inhibitor and tumor promoter, is the primary ...

ABSTRACT Background Cyclophosphamide (CY) is associated with potentially fatal cardiotoxicity, yet no electrocardiographic indices have been established for early detection of CY‐induced cardiomyopathy. This study aimed to determine whether corrected QT interval (QTc) prolongation can predict early onset of CY‐related cardiac dysfunction in pediatric ...

Structural and Mechanistic Analysis of the Slx1-Slx4 Endonuclease
The SLX1-SLX4 endonuclease required for homologous recombination and DNA repair in eukaryotic cells cleaves a variety of branched DNA structures. The nuclease subunit SLX1 is activated by association with a scaffolding protein SLX4.

Structural snapshots of the mechanism of ATP-dependent DNA damage recognition by UvrA
Nucleotide excision repair is a DNA repair pathway which detects and fixes various DNA lesions that distort the structure of DNA. In bacteria, the pathway starts with the UvrA protein which has two adenosine triphosphatase modules and forms dimers.
