ANALYSIS OF ALSELMANI SIGNALIZED INTERSECTION IN BENGHAZI - LIBYA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Intersections play an important role in the road network, where traffic flows in different directions converge. Because of their influence each other, disturbance of pedestrians and bicycle to vehicles, and the lost of green time for beginning and ...

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Hesitant Fuzzy h-ideals of \Gamma-hemirings

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2020
The purpose of this paper is to introduce and study hesitant fuzzy h-ideals ( h-bi-ideals, h-quasi-ideals) of a \Gamma-hemiring. We investigate several properties ofthese ideals.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

A Culminating Advance in the Theory and Practice of Data Fusion, Filtering, and Decentralized Estimation

open access: yes, 1997
Covariance Intersection (CI) is a major advance over the Kalman Filter for estimation, filtering, and data fusion applications. Covariance Intersection is more general in that it permits the fusion of estimates whose degree of correlation is unknown ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Spin–Phonon Relaxation Dynamics from a Conical Intersection of Trapped Rydberg Ions

open access: yes
Non-adiabatic processes near conical intersections are rooted in the stronger coupling between electronic and nuclear degrees of freedom. Using a system of two trapped Rydberg ions, their high polarizability and strong dipolar interactions allow to form ...

High‐Temperature Nanoindentation of Metals: Assessing Thermal Drift, Frame Compliance, and Chemical Composition Effects on the Reported Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...
