This work proposes ferroptosis as a mechanistic driver of ageārelated muscle dysfunction, whereby iron dyshomeostasis and impaired antioxidant capacity promote lipid peroxidation, and eventually trigger ferroptosis, leading to muscle wasting, and ultimately contributing to weakness and functional decline with aging.

Magnetic field dependent interactions in an ultracold Li-Yb($^3$P$_2$) mixture
Magnetic Feshbach resonances have allowed great success in the production of ultracold diatomic molecules from bi-alkali mixtures, but have so far eluded observation in mixtures of alkali and alkaline-earth-like atoms. Inelastic collisional properties of

The pathogenic mechanisms of pulmonary vascular endothelial cells (VECs) in lung diseases and their multimodal therapeutic strategies. ABSTRACT Pulmonary vascular endothelial cells (VECs) are essential for the normal function of the lung, through maintaining vascular barrier integrity, regulating blood flow, and participating in inflammatory responses ...

Link Between Capacity for Current Production and Syntrophic Growth in Geobacter species
Electrodes are unnatural electron acceptors, and it is yet unknown how some Geobacter species evolved to use electrodes as terminal electron acceptors.

The Functions of the Multiproduct and Rapidly Evolving \u3cem\u3edec-1\u3c/em\u3e Eggshell Gene Are Conserved Between Evolutionarily Distant Species of Drosophila [PDF]
The Drosophila dec-1 gene encodes multiple proteins that are required for female fertility and proper eggshell morphogenesis. Genetic and immunolocalization data suggest that the different DEC-1 proteins are functionally distinct.

We report on the dynamics of thermalization by extending a generalization of the Caldeira-Leggett model, developed in the context of cold atomic gases confined in a harmonic trap, to higher dimensions. Universal characteristics en route to thermalization

Ion friction at small values of the Coulomb logarithm
Transport properties of high-energy-density plasmas are influenced by the ion collision rate. Traditionally, this rate involves the Coulomb logarithm, $\ln\Lambda$.
