Reliability of Kinovea® Software and Agreement with a Three-Dimensional Motion System for Gait Analysis in Healthy Subjects

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Gait analysis is necessary to diagnose movement disorders. In order to reduce the costs of three-dimensional motion capture systems, new low-cost methods of motion analysis have been developed.

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

The neural basis of form and form-motion integration from static and dynamic translational Glass patterns: A rTMS investigation

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2017
A long-held view of the visual system is that form and motion are independently analysed. However, there is physiological and psychophysical evidence of early interaction in the processing of form and motion. In this study, we used a combination of Glass

Assessment of agreement using the equine glandular gastric disease grading system in 84 cases

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, 2022
Introduction Equine glandular gastric disease (EGGD) is a common condition causing signs of gastric pain although lesions are highly variable in their appearance. The only definitive method to diagnose EGGD ante‐mortem is gastroscopy.

Atrial repolarization as observable during the PQ interval [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrocardiology, 2006
We aimed to study the involvement of atrial repolarization in body surface potentials.Electrocardiograms of healthy subjects were recorded using a 64-lead system. The data analysis focused on the PQ intervals while devoting special attention to the low-amplitude signals during the PQ segment: the segment from the end of the P wave until onset QRS.

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Functional Interval Observers-Based Active Fault Tolerant Control for Continuous-Time Linear Parameter-Varying Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access
This article addresses the problem of Functional Interval Observers (FIO) based on Active Fault Tolerant Control for continuous-time polytopic Linear Parameter-Varying systems in the presence of unknown but bounded uncertainties, external disturbances ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Contrast-enhanced ultrasound is a reliable and reproducible assessment of necrotic ablated volume after radiofrequency ablation for benign thyroid nodules: a retrospective study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hyperthermia, 2022
Purpose To investigate the intra- and inter-observer reliability and agreement of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in measuring ablated volume (Va) after radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for benign thyroid nodules.
