Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Endoscopic Ultrasound-guided Biliary Drainage: A Tailored Approach
Although endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) remains the gold standard method to achieve biliary drainage (BD) in cases of obstruction, some situations preclude this option.

EUS-guided cholecystenterostomy: a new technique (with videos).
BACKGROUND: The cornerstone of management for acute cholecystitis is cholecystectomy. However, surgical intervention is contraindicated in the occasional patient. EUS-guided transduodenal gallbladder drainage may represent an effective minimally invasive

Safety of EUS-B-FNA in patients with respiratory insufficiency
To biopsy centrally located lung tumors is a challenge, especially in patients with severe respiratory insufficiency. The endobronchial ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration performed through the esophagus (EUS-B-FNA) makes it possible to attain ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the
