Diarrhea induced by insufficient fat absorption in weaned piglets: Causes and nutrition regulation
Fat is one of the three macronutrients and a significant energy source for piglets. It plays a positive role in maintaining intestinal health and improving production performance.

Gintonin absorption in intestinal model systems
Background: Recently, we identified a novel ginseng-derived lysophosphatidic acid receptor ligand, called gintonin. We showed that gintonin induces [Ca2+]i transient-mediated morphological changes, proliferation, and migration in cells expressing ...

Bioresorbable and Wireless Rechargeable Implanted Na‐ion Battery for Temporary Medical Devices
An all‐solid‐state bioresorbable Na‐ion battery is developed, composed entirely of bio‐eliminable materials. In vivo and ex vivo tests confirmed harmless disintegration of this implanted battery. Lifetime of the implanted battery can be precisely controlled by adjusting the dissolvable encapsulation layer's thickness.

Absorption and lymphatic transport of cholesterol and sitosterol in the rat
An attempt was made to determine the mechanism for the greater absorbability of cholesterol as compared to sitosterol.Sitosterol-22,23-3H in different combinations with cholesterol-4-14C, dissolved in 0.8 ml of triolein, was fed to rats with lymph ...

Time‐Controlled Dual Targeting to Program Systemic and Intercellular Transfer of Therapeutic Effects
Aspirin‐liposomes loaded onto monocytes enable inflammation‐triggered targeting and efficient hand‐over of aspirin to inflamed cells. Monocytes uptake a significant portion of aspirin‐liposomes, prolonging therapeutic action. This approach enhances anti‐inflammatory effects through intercellular transfer, demonstrating a translational strategy for ...

The model of circular and longitudinal smooth muscle motions in the motility of intestinal segment [PDF]
Coordination in circular and longitudinal muscle motions are of crucial importance in the motor function of gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Intestinal wall motions depend on myogenic-active properties of smooth muscles layers of intestinal wall, which is the ability to create active contractile forces in response to distension.
