Pathology of Intestinal Anisakiasis

1990
Anisakiasis (AN) is classified as gastric, intestinal and extra-gastrointestinal, which all share common features. The major pathological change in anisakiasis is an eosinophilic cell infiltration, a chemotactic effect and immunological reaction caused by the Anisakis larval antigens.

Immunodiagnosis for Intestinal Anisakiasis

1990
Endoscopical examination provides a definite diagnosis for gastric anisakiasis but without bowel surgery to identify Anisakis larve it is very difficult to diagnose intestinal anisakiasis. Eating raw fish within a few days of the onset of disease is an important factor, while laboratory findings may only suggest nonspecific acute inflammatory changes ...

Diagnosis of Intestinal Anisakiasis by Ultrasonography

1990
The diagnosis of gastro-intestinal disease by ultrasonography has been considered to be difficult because of the presence of digestive tract gas and has therefore been used only in selective cases. However, with improvements in equipment and techniques, it can also be used in the diagnosis of gastro-intestinal disease.

Radiographic Features of Intestinal Anisakiasis

1990
Intestinal anisakiasis was formerly considered to be a rare occurrence in Japan [1,2], with only a few case reports diagnosed by a preoperative radiological study [3-6]. We obtained clinical, radiologic and immunologic evidence of anisakiasis [5] and suggested that the specific radiological picture was edema and/or stenosis of the bowel.

Acute intestinal anisakiasis: CT findings.

Acta gastro-enterologica Belgica, 2012
Small bowel anisakiasis is a relatively uncommon disease that results from consumption of raw or insufficiently pickled, salted, smoked, or cooked wild marine fish infected with Anisakis larvae. We report a case of intestinal anisakiasis in a 63-year-old woman presenting with acute onset of abdominal complaints one day after ingestion of raw wild ...
