Comprehensive Insights into Tracheoesophageal Fistula Pathophysiology, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Future Directions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 37, October 6, 2025.
Tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF), a pathological trachea‐esophagus connection, arises congenitally or from malignancy/radiotherapy/trauma, causing aspiration and malnutrition. Diagnosis utilizes imaging and endoscopy. Treatment ranges from endoscopic stenting to surgical repair and conservative management.

Heterotopic Pancreas in the Gallbladder: An Incidental Finding Following Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy in a Patient With Cholelithiasis

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Heterotopic pancreas (HP)—defined as ectopic pancreatic tissue lacking vascular or ductal connections to the main organ—represents an exceedingly rare anatomical variant in the gallbladder. This developmental anomaly warrants careful clinical attention due to its potential surgical implications.

Early Celiac Plexus Block in Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Both Early and Delayed Celiac Plexus Blocks (CPBs) have been used in pancreatic cancer. Early CPB is completed when the criteria for CPB are initially met, whereas Delayed CPB is implemented only after recalcitrant pain persists. We describe the benefit of early CPB in pancreatic cancer management.

Hypertrophic Scarring and Keloids: Epidemiology, Molecular Pathogenesis, and Therapeutic Interventions

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
Hypertrophic scars and keloids highlight distinct epidemiology, multifactorial triggers (genetic, mechanical, medical), and dysregulated signaling hubs (TGF‐β, Integrin‐FAK, Wnt/β‐catenin). Emerging interventions targeting fibroblast plasticity, inflammation, and biomechanics via gene editing, immune modulation, and biomaterials are increasingly ...

Molecular and Cellular Mechanisms of Respiratory Syncytial Viral Infection: Its Implications for Prophylactic and Therapeutic Pharmaceuticals

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) causes substantial global morbidity, particularly in infants and elderly populations. This review summarizes key viral pathogenesis mechanisms and highlights recent advances in both prophylactic (vaccines, antibodies) and therapeutic (antiviral agents) strategies against RSV.
