High priority intra coding method for depth video coding
2012 Picture Coding Symposium, 2012Depth video coding is one of the key techniques to realize the three-dimensional (3D) video system. The depth video is spatially high correlated compared to its corresponding color video in general. Intra-frame coding with recursive intra prediction and adapted block transforms
2014 IEEE Visual Communications and Image Processing Conference, 2014Conventional intra-frame coding is performed in two steps. First, a block of pixels are predicted by copying previously reconstructed neighbor pixels of the block along an angular direction inside the block. Then, the prediction residual block is transform-coded with the well-known 2-D Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT).

Hybrid angular intra/template matching prediction for HEVC intra coding
2015 Visual Communications and Image Processing (VCIP), 2015In the latest HEVC video coding standard, angular intra prediction (AIP) applies 35 modes including 33 angular modes which can handle blocks with direction information well, and other 2 modes (DC and planar) which are used to predict smooth blocks. However, for blocks with complex texture, these modes may not give good predictions.

Efficient intra-mode coding method in video coding
TENCON 2012 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2012This paper proposes an efficient intra-mode coding method using the deviation of neighbor pixels. In HEVC, the number of intra-prediction modes is increased in order to improve coding performance for intra-prediction as compared to H.264/AVC. However, this causes coding inefficiency in intra-mode coding.

Error concealment of intra coded video frames.
2010In this paper, we propose a procedure to recover lost slices in intra-coded H.264/AVC video frames. The procedure recovers missing pixels by exploiting only the video frame spatial redundancy, with no reference to past frames. This situation is interesting in correspondence to scene changes.
