Protective Effect and Mechanism of Edible Grass (Rumex patientia L. Ă— Rumex tianschanicus A.LOS) Jiaosu on Alcohol-Induced Injury in HepG2 Cells [PDF]

open access: yesShipin Kexue
The protective effect of edible grass jiaosu (EGJ) on alcohol-induced injury in HepG2 cells was evaluated in terms of cell viability, alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) activity, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity, malondialdehyde (MDA) content and superoxide

In vivo metabolite compartmentalization probed using intracellular GdDTPA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Fast trans-membrane water exchange enables in- tracellular relaxation enhancement of water by contrast agents in the extracellular space. For me- tabolites not in fast exchange across membranes, intracellular metabolite relaxation enhancement will only occur if the contrast agent and metabolite are in the same compartment.

Impact of Trans-Resveratrol-Sulfates and -Glucuronides on Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase Activity, Nitric Oxide Release and Intracellular Reactive Oxygen Species

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
Resveratrol (3,5,4'-trihydroxy-trans-stilbene) is a polyphenolic natural product mainly present in grape skin, berries and peanuts. In the vasculature resveratrol is thought to boost endothelial function by increasing endothelial nitric oxide synthase ...

The development of metabolomic sampling procedures for Pichia pastoris, and baseline metabolome data.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Metabolic profiling is increasingly being used to investigate a diverse range of biological questions. Due to the rapid turnover of intracellular metabolites it is important to have reliable, reproducible techniques for sampling and sample treatment ...

Discovery of Novel Doxorubicin Metabolites in MCF7 Doxorubicin-Resistant Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2019
Doxorubicin (DOX) is metabolized to a variety of metabolites in vivo, which has been shown to be associated with cardiotoxicity. We speculate that metabolic processes are also present in tumor cells.

Microbiota-Produced N-Formyl Peptide fMLF Promotes Obesity-Induced Glucose Intolerance. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The composition of the gastrointestinal microbiota and associated metabolites changes dramatically with diet and the development of obesity. Although many correlations have been described, specific mechanistic links between these changes and glucose ...

Detection of Metabolites by Proton Ex Vivo NMR, in Vivo MR Spectroscopy Peaks and Tissue Content Analysis: Biochemical-Magnetic Resonance Correlation: Preliminary Results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
*Aim*: Metabolite concentrations by in vivo magnetic resonance spectroscopy and ex vivo NMR spectroscopy were compared with excised normal human tissue relaxation times and tissue homogenate contents. *Hypothesis*: Biochemical analysis
