RAS Pathway Mutations and Therapeutics in Vascular Anomalies

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 72, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Vascular anomalies (VAs) are a diverse group of vascular tumors and vascular malformations (VMs). VMs are characterized by abnormal vessel development, overgrowth, and dysfunction. Coagulopathy, edema, and effusions can cause severe morbidity and mortality in children and adults with these diseases. Germline or somatic mutations in the RAS/RAF/

Electroacupuncture Attenuates Cerebral Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury by Inhibiting Ferroptosis via the p53/SLC7A11 Pathway

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology, Volume 52, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Acupuncture has demonstrated efficacy in treating post‐stroke complications. Electroacupuncture (EA) ameliorates neurological outcomes in cerebral ischemia models, yet its mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigated EA's role in reducing cerebral ischemia–reperfusion injury (CIRI) in a rat model, focusing on ferroptosis.

Maternal postpartum six‐week check and short‐term health outcomes for women with hypertensive disorders in pregnancy: An observational study using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD)

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 104, Issue 5, Page 937-947, May 2025.
In this higher‐risk population of women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, disparities exist in the provision or uptake of six‐week postnatal checks. Women without a six‐week check were younger, from deprived areas, have severe disease, or a difficult birth, suggesting missed opportunities in postpartum care.

The Pathobiology of Cerebrovascular Lesions in CADASIL Small Vessel Disease

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 136, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Cerebral small vessel disease (cSVD) is a significant global health issue, accounting for approximately 25% of ischemic strokes and 20% of all dementia cases. CADASIL, the most common monogenic form of cSVD, is caused by stereotyped mutations in the NOTCH3 receptor that alter the number of cysteine residues in its extracellular domain ...

Joint association of remnant cholesterol and lipoprotein‐associated phospholipase A2 with composite adverse events: A 12‐year follow‐up study from Asymptomatic Polyvascular Abnormalities Community study

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 27, Issue 5, Page 2790-2799, May 2025.
Abstract Aims To explore the association of remnant cholesterol (RC) and lipoprotein‐associated phospholipase A2 (Lp‐PLA2) with composite adverse events in a large‐scale prospective study. Methods All data were collected from the Asymptomatic Polyvascular Abnormalities Community study between 2010 and 2022.
