Nonthermal support for the outer intracluster medium [PDF]
We submit that non thermalized support for the outer intracluster medium in relaxed galaxy clusters is provided by turbulence, driven by inflows of intergalactic gas across the virial accretion shocks. We expect this component to increase briskly during the cluster development for z<1/2, due to three factors.

The X-Ray Intracluster Medium [PDF]
Clusters of galaxies are the largest aggregates of matter that have decoupled from the universal expansion and have approximately evolved to a proper dynamical equilibrium configuration. While in the optical they are just observed as dense concentrations of galaxies, they are seen in X-rays as continuously connected entities through the emission of the

Detrending Changes the Temporal Dynamics of a Semantic Fluency Task
Objective: To study the dynamics of clustering semantic fluency responses and switching between clusters. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study of participants (N=60) in a study of patient reported outcomes who were given the Saint Louis ...

Chemical and Thermal History of the Intracluster Medium
Clusters of galaxies can be seen as giant astrophysical laboratories enclosing matter in a large enough volume, so that the matter composition can be taken as representing the composition of our Universe.

Gas Stripping of Dwarf Galaxies in Clusters of Galaxies [PDF]
Many clusters of galaxies contain an appreciable amount of hot gas, the intracluster medium. As a consequence, gas will be stripped from galaxies that move through the inter cluster medium, if the ram pressure exceeds the internal gravitational force. We

The presence of dust in the intracluster medium (ICM) has been a long-standing problem that is still awaiting elucidation. Direct observational diagnostics are rather challenging (though not impossible) either because of a sparse distribution of dust in ...

Rescuing the intracluster medium of NGC 5813
We use recent X-ray observations of the intracluster medium (ICM) of the galaxy group NGC 5813 to confront theoretical studies of ICM thermal evolution with the newly derived ICM properties. We argue that the ICM of the cooling flow galaxy group NGC 5813

Broad Band Optical Polarimetric Study of IC 1805 [PDF]
We present the BVR broad band polarimetric observations of 51 stars belonging to the young open cluster IC 1805. Along with the photometric data from the literature we have modeled and subtracted the foreground dust contribution from the maximum ...

Heating of the intracluster medium
The gravitational interaction of the system of galaxies and the ICM are treated by fluctuation theory. Fluctuation theory seems to be more adequate to describe the gravitational interaction than local theories used up to now, because gravitation is a long-range force.
